Dr. Ruchir Patel is the founder of OrthoD Hospital and its chief joint replacement and trauma surgeon. He believes in ethical and genuine practice. That means advising surgery only when it is needed and explaining every option to the patient and family.
He trained at B.J. Medical College and Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. He then worked in both a joint replacement centre and a busy trust hospital, so he has seen everything from planned joint replacements to serious accident injuries.

At Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad
Three years of postgraduate training in one of Asia's largest hospitals. He assisted and performed many types of orthopaedic surgeries under senior doctors.
At Shah Hospital, Ahmedabad
He assisted in more than 1,000 joint replacement surgeries of the knee, hip, shoulder and elbow, including revision surgeries. He also learned knee replacement using third generation computer navigation and the subvastus approach.
At Vatrak (SFGG) Trust Hospital
For almost three years he served patients from rural Gujarat. He performed more than 3,000 trauma surgeries and 50 joint replacements. He handled 70 to 80 surgeries a month and about 100 OPD patients a day.
In Seoul, South Korea
In July 2017 he trained for a month under Dr. Yang Su Kim, learning advanced shoulder replacement techniques.
